Hey all, I’ve got some exciting news for you: we’re hosting our first ever giveaway promotion! UPrinting.com has graciously offered to provide free printing services to two lucky individuals who leave a comment on this blog post (see specific rules below). If you haven’t checked them out yet, why not do so now? They’ve got a pretty cool proofing setup that lends itself extremely well to custom size orders. So what are you waiting for? Check out the rules for entering below and get commenting!
Many thanks to Gino Orlandi and the rest of the UPrinting.com team for this opportunity to share with the community.
How to Enter: Simply leave a comment at the end of this blog post, describing what you would use the free business cards and/or postcards for. For extra credit, post a helpful design resource link that relates to business card / postcard design and leave your twitter handle!
Prizes: On April 1st, 2009 I will select two winners based on the comments to this post. One person will receive free printing on 500 postcards and the other will receive free printing on 500 business cards courtesy of UPrinting.com! And I promise… this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke.
Rules: Winners in the United States and Canada qualify for free shipping. Shipping fees will apply to winners outside these areas. Limit one entry per participant.

I will be finishing school soon and starting to dive into the freelance web community as a designer/developer. I sure could use some business cards!
I have found http://cardobserver.com/ to be a pretty resourceful link for inspiration on business card design.
Hit me up on Twitter @crbarnett
If I win, I will be using my postcards or business cards as sample calling cards for my illustration work. I do lots of graphic design but not enough illustration, and would like to get that going.
My Twitter handle is @M2Imaging.
If I were to be selected, I would use the business cards to promote myself as a Digital Photographer. I’m currently enrolled in school for digital photography and with today’s economy, finding work has been troublesome. I have tried putting myself out there on craigslist, facebook, twitter, yahoo hotjobs, and even myspace. But what’s really missing is face-to-face time with possible clients and being able to issue them a card with my contact info. I have a website that I built myself and a personalized email address for clients to contact me with. All that’s needed now is a business card.
With times being as hard as they are and trying to find employment, even if it’s just at a regular 9-5, to help me out with college, I’m getting turned down left, right, top and bottom! To receive these business cards, I believe I’d have the opportunity to really give my photography skills a chance in the world and improve my odds.

Oh this is awesome!
Well I would use the business cards to help get this aspiring freelancers (me!) name a little bit more well known around San Diego. Word of mouth is an excellent way to get clients.
How would i use 500 business cards? Giving them away like crazy!
The first thing that comes to mind when talking about business card resources is http://www.beastpieces.com/ , it’s a letterpress cards heaven
Good Luck to all
Oh! My new business cards!
Good luck everyone! Cool idea Stephen!
Thanks Stephen - I’d pass the “gift” of cards to a business in downtown Bozeman, Montana, which was recently stuck by a natural gas explosion, destroying a number of Main Street businesses and stunning the community.
I’d use the business cards or postcards to help a non-profit organization promote their cause, who wouldn’t otherwise be able to spend the money on a designer or printing.

Congrats to Jason Miller and Josiah Jost for being the winners of Sonata Creative’s first giveway with UPrinting.com!
A random number generator was used to choose these winners, so Jason receive 500 free postcards and Josiah will win 500 business cards. You will be contacted shortly by UPrinting.com staff to claim your prize- thanks all for participating!
Thanks Stephen! Woot! Perfect timing as I was going to need new business cards with my re-brand!
Thank you Stephen! This is awesome and I’m very grateful for random selectors.
